Vertner Woodson Tandy was truly a pioneer in his generation. He was a great leader during his time. In addition to being a leader, he was an artist, and an activist. Tandy, a very talented man, lead many iniatives and was an important figure during his time. He holds a few distinctions that no other man can say they have.

 

He has many great accomplishments, a one of them being that he was the first registered architect in the State of New York. Also one of his earlier accomplishments being one of the seven founders of the first African American Fraternity, Alpha Phi Alpha. He also holds a few other distinctions with the military as well that truly set him apart and make him an role model for all African Americans.
